What Is GoBoat?
Since 2014, Danish company GoBoat has been operating its fleet of eco-friendly picnic boats across Europe and Australia from Melbourne and Sydney to Brisbane, and now right here on the Gold Coast. The Scandinavian-designed vessels are slow-moving, easy to operate, and built from a mix of reclaimed timber and recycled PET bottles.

Step aboard your electric picnic boat, cast off from the dock at Capri on Via Roma, and the Gold Coast opens up in a way most visitors never get to see.
No engine noise. No exhaust fumes. Just the quiet hum of the water, a 360° view of the skyline, and nowhere to be.
Sail south toward the Gold Coast Convention Centre, or head north past the Southport Yacht Club and Palazzo Versace, the route is yours to call. Along the way, the iconic Q1 Tower dominates the skyline, the colourful HOTA arts precinct catches your eye, and the waterfront mansions of the Gold Coast’s most sought-after addresses drift by at a pace slow enough to actually take them in.
Each boat fits up to 8 guests around a central picnic table, complete with cup holders and a shaded canopy. Pack your own food and drinks — BYO is welcome, up to 2 standard drinks per person on board.
