About BAO Burgers

Bao Burgers (pronounced Bow) is a street food style venue set against a sparkling, boat-laden backdrop inside Capri on Via Roma, offering both dine-in and takeaway options. The concept is simple and completely addictive: pillowy soft steamed buns filled with delicious meat and salad fillings, served all day from breakfast through to dinner.

Owner Shane McDowall, former owner of The Boatshed in Currumbin, set out to open something unique to the area, an easy takeaway option that could also be enjoyed as a proper sit-down meal, paired with fries and enjoyed with a view. The result is one of the most distinctive spots in the precinct, and a favourite with locals and visitors alike.

Grab a table inside or head out to the deck directly overlooking the water, with views across to Surfers Paradise. If you are out on the water, Bao Burgers is a great takeaway option for a canal cruising picnic.

The Menu

Bao Burgers serves various bao for breakfast including bacon and egg, grilled haloumi and smoked salmon. Lunch favourites include pork belly, chicken szechuan, confit duck and Greek lamb.

Beyond the bao, the menu also features:
