A pharmacy built differently

Founded in 2013 by pharmacist Michelle Loschiavo, Byron Compounding Chemist began in the coastal town of Byron Bay before opening its Gold Coast location at Capri on Via Roma the following year. Today the Gold Coast store is the primary location, with the Byron Bay store now consolidated here, and free delivery offered to all Byron Bay and Northern Rivers customers Australia-wide.

What is compounding?

Compounding is the science of making pharmaceuticals from raw ingredients so they can be customised to fit the unique needs of each individual patient. Where standard medications come in fixed doses and formulas, a compounding pharmacist can adjust strength, remove allergens, change delivery format, or combine ingredients in ways that simply are not available off the shelf.

The team

The pharmacists and technicians at Byron Compounding Chemist are fully trained in all aspects of compounding practice and regularly attend accredited training conferences both locally and around Australia. The team pride themselves on their knowledge, expertise and passion for what they do, and this is reflected in the quality and consistency of every product made.

Byron Compounding Chemist works directly with GPs, specialists, veterinarians, dentists, podiatrists and other health professionals to tailor compounding prescriptions for patients with unique needs. Prescriptions can be emailed directly to the pharmacy.
